our step by step process

When you start looking for concrete contractors to do your project, most people do not know what all goes into a project’s price. The misconception is that every company does everything the same. All prices are not created equal. Here is Creative Concepts Contractors Inc. process for a concrete project.

  • Demolition: Removal of the area where the concrete will be placed. Typically, 8-10 inches of removal.
  • Prep work: We take our prep work very seriously and it is what separates us from other companies in the industry. We install 4 inches minimum of compacted class 5. We hand screed our class 5, so it is even with no dips or humps to prevent uneven concrete depths. Uneven sub-base can lead to random cracking in the concrete.  In some applications we recommend using erosion fabric or 2” rigid foam under class 5 sub-base to prevent contamination of sub-base and to prevent frost heave.
  • Rebar: We use a fiber/composite 3/8inch rebar. It is RUST-FREE, high tensile strength and 2X stronger than steel.
  • Expansion: We use Noma flex expansion, which is foam based, never expands or contracts, or deteriorates, like the fiber/asphalt expansion.
  • Concrete Mix: 4500 psi Super X with microfibers (internal sealer for broom finish concrete), this is an upgraded mix of concrete.
  • Coloring Process: For all stamp jobs we pour with an integral color which comes premixed in the concrete truck. The next day after stamping we come back to pressure wash and add a  secondary color to highlight the concrete stamping.
  • Sealer: In stamping applications we apply TWO coats of TK Bright Cure and Seal. For Broom Finish Application we use an internal Cure and Seal that is mixed into the concrete mix.
  • Lawn Damage: We take extra precautions to not ruin your lawn.  We use wheelbarrows and if we use machinery, we have invested in and use 4’x8’ equipment mats to protect your yard from damage.
  • Top Soil: After we complete your project, we install Top Soil around our working area to fill in over-digging and space were our forms were placed.
